Emily Harper is a beautiful newborn weighted doll that I have lovingly crafted using brand-new, fully-painted doll parts. She will arrive with a detailed birth certificate; yes, you can change her name. I have left the name blank so you may name the doll whatever you wish. You can make this a boy or a girl. Emily Harper, born December 13, 2022, is a life-size baby weighing 5 lbs. 10 ounces measuring 19" long. Emily Harper's head, full-length arms, and legs are made from very soft vinyl. The arms are vinyl from the end of the hand to the top of the shoulder. The legs are vinyl from the tip of the toes to the top of the thigh. She has a cloth body. She has delicate details on the hands and feet and many of the chubby wrinkles you fall in love with on a newborn. The fingernails and toenails are realistic as well. You can see small veins in the skin.
She has a closed mouth that has a wet glossy look. She has beautiful big blue eyes. You will need to support her head as would a real newborn her cute little round head flops back & forth just like a real baby. Her fine baby hair is drawn in with a faint mist of brown paint. The soft cloth body is weighted & stuffed with fluffy fill to round her out. Emily Harper’s arms and legs are weighted as well; she can even sit up nicely.
She wears real baby clothes in newborn size. You can even purchase her a whole wardrobe at your local department store. The newborn size fits perfectly. Emily Harper is wearing one piece fleece that has a two way zipper. She is also wearing a hat to keep her warm. And, of course, she is wearing a real diaper. She loves pacifiers, so she comes with one that magnetically fits perfectly in her mouth. I have also included little extras in the box, a blanket and a bottle.
I was eight years old when I received my first real newborn weighted baby doll from my mother, who handmade mine. I was so surprised that I fell in love instantly. I loved shopping for baby clothes, and most of the time, my weekly allowance was spent on an actual stroller and other baby equipment.
I played with my doll for years. I still, to this day, have my last real baby doll, which I handed down to my 6-year-old daughter. She still gets as much play time as she used to. My mother is the massive inspiration behind my work on these dolls. She has since passed, but I love that she left me a gift I thoroughly enjoy day in and day out. I love the smiles it brings. I know they will bring many years of fun and loving memories to the children who adopt them!
